Same Day Appointments

Urgent medical problems will always be seen on the same day. If you strongly believe the problem is medically urgent and need a 'same day appointment'  please make this clear to the Receptionist and give her as much information as possible.

Surgeries are held throughout most of the day between the hours of 8.30am to 12.30pm and from 4.00pm to 6.30pm, and on Saturday morning.

Many appointments are wasted because patients fail to turn up and do not let us know beforehand. In the month of February 2013- 54 patients missed their booked appointments. We strongly urge patients to inform us immediately if unable to attend their appointments, so this can be offered to another patient.  Whilst we do understand that your commitments can change, it would be greatly appreciated if you could keep us informed so we can offer your appointment to another patient.

Punctuality

We aim to see our patients within 15 minutes of their appointment time, so please arrive on time. Sometimes we will run late because a patient has presented us with more than one problem or has a particularly difficult problem. Your tolerance and co-operation in these circumstances are greatly appreciated.

Home Visits

If you are very elderly, infirm or too ill to come to the Centre you may call our Receptionist to request a home visit.

Please note that your call must be received before 10.30 am after which time we will only attend to emergency cases.

Doctors’ home visits are scheduled in order of priority. It is therefore important that you give the Receptionist as much information as possible about the problem so it can be dealt with appropriately.

Please remember that whilst our doctors will endeavour to visit you at home, facilities at the Centre are far better for examination and any necessary treatment can be administered promptly.

You are also likely to be seen more quickly if you come to the Centre.

Telephone Advice

Your Doctor will be pleased to advise you over the telephone. However in order to avoid disturbing other patients, your Doctor will only be able to do so between surgeries and may therefore have to call you back.

If you need advice for minor illnesses or health worries, you may also call our Nurses in the Treatment Room who will be delighted to help.

Our telephone lines are open from 8.00am till 6.30pm.
